JEE MAIN (Joint Entrance Examination) 2014  is the largest entrance exam  for the professional course in India.  The examination is conducted by the Central Body of Secondary Education. This year around 14 lakh students would try their fortune to get in to the best engineering colleges provided by the exam which are funded by central Government . No doubt, its not a child’s  play. One has to be analytical, theoretical, intelligent and hardworking.

JEE Main 2014 will  be conducted at two levels, JEE Main 2014 and JEE Advanced 2014. The candidates who will be applying for JEE Main 2014 will have an option to apply for JEE Advanced 2014 as well in the application form. The top 1.5 Lakh candidates from JEE Main 2014 will be selected for JEE Advanced 2014, with condition that all other eligibility conditions are met.For admissions into IITs and ISM, candidates have to attempt JEE Advanced 2014 whereas for admission into premier CFTIs, SFTIs, candidates need to attempt JEE Main 2014 only.


The online exam will be conducted on 9th, 11th, 12th and 19th April, 2014.

The date of offline exam for paper One  ( BE/B.TECH) and paper Two (B.Arch)  is 06.04.2014. Students can select to give paper One online on a different date or they can appear for both the papers on same day.

Note:  The candidates choosing the cities Colombo/Kathmandu/Singapore will appear for Paper – 1 in Computer Based Examination only on 19/04/2013. The Paper – 2 in these three cities will be conducted on 06/04/2013 from 2.00–5.00 PM (IST) in Pen & Paper Based examination.


So, What’s  new in JEE MAIN 2014:

  • From this year onward no hard copies of the JEE MAIN 2014 form would be available. Candidates does not have to send final print of the application form to the JEE MAIN office.  Candidates have to upload their photographs, signature and the left thumb impression in JPEG format as specified. However, the candidates are advised to retain hard copy of the application i.e. confirmation page for future reference or correspondence, if any.


  • The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Nagaland and Odisha have also joined JEE Main 2014 system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE Main – 2014 application form online.


Important details: JEE MAIN 2014

  • The name of the candidate and his/her parents name in the application form must exactly be the same as registered in Class 12th/ equivalent qualifying Examination. No prefix/title such as Mr/Shri/Fr/Dr/Mrs/Smt/Col etc should be used.

  • The fee may be paid either by credit/debit card or through e-challan generated during the online filling of the application form. Incase of e-challan, the payment should be made in the Syndicate/Canara/ICICI Bank in cash.
  • No options can be changed at a later stage after submission of an application. However, a chance may be given to the candidates to correct some of the particular of the application form online only, with valid reason , during the month of Jan 2014. The candidates are advised to see the website and newspaper regularly to know the exact date when the corrections will be allowed online only.
     No change will be accepted through offline i.e. through fax/application including e-mail etc.

  •  The marks of Class 12th /equivalent qualifying examination will be displayed on the website of JEE  Main 2014 during the second week of June 2014. The candidates have to verify these marks and confirm it on the website. In case of any discrepancy, the candidates should upload the copy of the mark-sheet online only latest by 25th June 2014 on JEE Main official website. 

  •  In case of change in qualifying examination marks due to re-totaling/verification/result revision, the candidate should ensure to upload the copy of the revised mark-sheet online only latest by 25th June2014 on JEE Main website. The revised mark-sheet will not be accepted after 25th June 2014 for whatsoever reason.

  • The candidates are advised to retain the same mobile number and email-id in use which they have furnished in the application form because the important information may be given to the candidates through SMS or e-mail.
