The Common Law Admission Test(CLAT 2014) is an all India  entrance exam which is conducted every year by each of National Law Schools on rotation as per the criterion of seniority. Candidates seeking admission to the Under Graduate (LLB) and Post Graduate (LLM) Programs in the National Law schools must appear in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). 

Seven National Law Schools are NLSIU, Bangalore; NALSAR, Hyderabad; NUJS, Kolkata; NLU Jodhpur; NLSIU, Bhopal; HNLU, Raipur and GNLU, Ahmadabad. The admission is based on the rank of the candidate in the entrance examination.

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralised test for admission to prominent National Law Universities in India. A total number of 1037 seats] from seven law schools were offered to be filled by the test. The two-hour admission test consists of objective type covering questions on English, general knowledge, basic mathematics, besides legal and logical reasoning.

 

CLAT 2014 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate by 1st July 2014 must not have attained the age of:

 

(i). Twenty (20) years in case of General/OBC/Persons with Disability (PWD) and Other category candidates

(ii). Twenty Two (22) years in case of SC/ST category candidates

 

As regards minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination (i.e. 10 2), the candidates must have secured:

 

(iii). Forty five percent (45%) marks in case belongs to General/OBC/PWD and other category, and

(iv). Forty Percent (40%) marks in case belong to SC/ST category.

 

CLAT 2014 Online Application Form

 

  • The CLAT-2014 Online Application Form will be accessible on the CLAT website between 1st January, 2014 and 31st March, 2014 along with the Information Brochure
  • Offline application form for CLAT 2014 will not be available from this year.
  •  CLAT-2014 Information Brochure (not the application form) will also be accessible from the respective website of all the participating NLUs.

 

Application Fee for CLAT 2014

  • For General/OBC/PWD and other category candidates:  4000/-.
  • For SC/ST category candidates:  3500/-.
